Web Seminar on "Innovative Roof Drainage Solutions for Safe & Uninterrupted Business Operations" on 8th June 2021 at 3:00 PM (IST)
The Manufacturing Industry has been exploring standards in roof drainage system for decades. They require an innovative and sustainable roof drainage solution, that protects roofs from heavy rains and thereby avoiding damage to the roofs and prevent disruptions of business operations.
The Geberit Group, which is the European market leader in sanitary technology with global presence, has an innovative siphonic roof drainage system solution that has been installed in more than 50,000 projects in India and worldwide and increasingly becoming the go to solution for effective roof drainage.
VDMA India along with GEBERIT India organised this web seminar which discussed the key challenges and the technology advancement in the Roofing Solution Technology to ensure sustainable infrastructure and make your building future-proof.
We were privileged to have esteemed speakers joining us for this interactive and informative session:
- Michael Allenspach, Head of Technical Services & Product Management, Geberit India
- Supreeta Shetty, Head Key Accounts, Geberit India
- Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India
- S Manohar, Regional Head – South, VDMA India
The moderation of the session and opening remarks were given by Mr. Manohar, Regional Head – South, VDMA India who gave an insight about the activities of VDMA India, the flow of the web seminar and introduced the esteemed speakers. He then handed over the session to Mr. Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India. He briefly introduced the topic of innovative roof drainage system and how it can protect roofs from heavy rains and thereby avoiding damage to the roofs and prevent disruptions of business operations. He also spoke about Geberit India which is the European market leader in sanitary technology and offers innovative siphonic roof drainage system solution that has been installed in more than 50,000 projects in India and worldwide for effective roof drainage. He gave a brief introduction about the speakers and the key topics that they were about to discuss. He also shared some of his thoughts on the second wave of Indian Economy.
Mr. Nath then passed on the baton to Ms. Supreeta Shetty, the first speaker of the session who envisaged the attendees through the innovative drainage solution topic. She gave us the insights of drainage issues by addressing some key messages from sources of the India Metrology Department (IMD). She enlisted the reasons for the challenges of heavy unseasonal rains which damage roof structures and result in overflow and leakage causing disruption in business operations. She then highlighted on the issues in existing industrial roof drainage system by performing a detailed study which are leakage, overflow and structural overload. She further mentioned the challenges to replace existing solutions such as installation in shorter duration, space availability, design constraint, larger roof area, eliminate underground works, gutter size and closing of existing system. In her concluding remarks, she gave a brief introduction about the product PLUVIA and pointed out its advantages such as its high performance, design flexibility, fast installation and 360 project support.
Ms. Shetty then handed over the session to her colleague, Mr. Michael Allenspach, the second speaker of the session who gave an informative detailed session about the product Pluvia. He mentioned about its high performance and reliability, architectural flexibility ff design due to optimal use of space, provision of emergency system to safe guard the building, high flow capacity results in efficient self-cleaning effect, reduced maintenance cost, ten years warranty and total cost of ownership gets reduced. He also established some of the advantages of Pluvia over other conventional systems. He explains how Pluvia system functions with heavy rain and light rain. He elaborates on how the pluvial system plays an important role to create negative pressure. He provided the audience with a closer look of the Project Management. He further on stated the reference projects taken up by Geberit such as the Indira Gandhi International T3 Airport in New Delhi. Pluvia has been successfully installed in more than 200 projects in India. In his concluding remarks he spoke about the legacy, commitment and reliability of Geberit presenting a video which incorporated the story of Geberit.
