VDMA welcomes the resumption of trade negotiations with India
The EU and India have decided to resume negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement: a step in the right direction. VDMA has been advocating for this for a long time.
The EU and India decided on 8 May 2021 at their partial virtual EU-India Summit to resume negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement and to start negotiations on an Investment Protection Agreement. Both parties also agreed to set up a working group on intensifying regulatory cooperation on goods and services and a working group on resilient supply chains. The EU and India will also enhance coordination in the area of global economic governance, especially in the WTO.
