Mechanical and plant engineering is a thoroughly European industry. Europe is not only the largest sales market for our products. Europe is also our innovation area and the home of our networks. If industrial SMEs are to remain globally competitive, we need the EU as a strong voice in the world and as a political force that sets the right framework conditions for the forthcoming transformations of our industry.
With the first European Engineering Dialogue, which will take place from 16-17 June 2020 in Brussels, the association has launched a conference at which the leading heads of European mechanical engineering will discuss the current and future challenges facing our industry.
Only in a strong European Union will Europe and European industry meet the challenges of the future. From the point of view of the VDMA, it is important that the member states once again made a clear commitment to cooperation at the summit in Sibiu before the European elections.
