India Day Symposium at the bauma 2019
In principle Indian industry has great potential for Germany especially in the areas of manufacturing, infrastructure and energy which are major growth sectors in India. A great deal of perseverance is needed until talks and discussions come to a successful end. Perhaps new developments in terms of technology and business models will give fresh impetus to Indo-German relations in the raw materials industry.
During bauma 2019 in Munich a country special session on India named as the “India Day Sympoosium was organized by the VDMA Mining and VDMA India on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the bauma forum in Hall C2, which offered the next good opportunity to sound out new perspectives for new business.
Mr. Sugandh Rajaram, Consul General of India in Munich was present as the chief guest. A delegation from the Singareni Collieries Co. Ltd. (SCCL), the second largest coal producer in India, headed by Mr. N. Sridhar, Chairman and Managing Director, SCCL also attended the symposium. Mr. Sridhar made a presentation on “Development of Coal Industry in India”.
Also a 45 member delegation of Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (ICEMA) led by Mr. Arvind K Garg, President, ICEMA and Mr. Sandeep Singh, Vice President, ICEMA also joined the symposium. Mr. Garg made a presentation on “Construction Equipment Market in India and Future Trends”
Mr. Rajesh Nath, Managing Director, VDMA India moderated a panel discussion on “India: An Important Market for the Machinery Industry – Opportunities & Challenges”
