The British Parliament tries to make sure that there will be no hard Brexit after all. Nevertheless, companies must continue to prepare for it.

The British House of Commons wants to prevent a chaotic Brexit with the help of a new law. Thilo Brodtmann, Executive Director of VDMA, comments:

"For companies on both sides of the Channel, there is new hope that a chaotic Brexit and the pointless loss of wealth and jobs could be prevented. The present withdrawal agreement should now finally be implemented. A further postponement of the Brexit date would also be conceivable.

The industry expects, however, that the tiresome issue of the British withdrawal from the EU will finally come to an end. However, as long as there is no firm agreement between the EU and the UK, companies must continue to expect and prepare for a disorderly Brexit after 31 October".
